Leanne is our lead BACP therapist and one of the Directors here at Birth Trauma North East.
She has extensive experience in the perinatal field, having been the Perinatal Lead at a well established IAPT Service for two years as well as being the Perinatal Practitioner at Leo’s Neonatal.
Throughout her career in mental health which has spanned over a decade, Leanne has always had a clear and dedicated passion for supporting families in the perinatal period, this stems from her own experience of birth trauma. She has invested countless hours in upskilling her knowledge in this area, including qualifying in 2024 as a Birth Trauma Practitioner as part of the Birth Trauma Resolution Practitioner Program.
Leanne’s passion lies in helping those who have felt unheard in their birth experience, and those grappling with debilitating symptoms following either their own or their partner’s birth trauma. She is committed to providing a safe space for people to gently explore their experiences, develop positive mental patterns and feel empowered and at peace.
Leanne delivers online, and in-person talking therapies from Guisborough.
Meet Lottie, one of the Directors and Practitioners here at Birth Trauma North East.
Lottie has been working exclusively with parents who have endured trauma from pregnancy /baby loss, or neonatal stays for the past seven years through her work with Leo’s.
She is also the founder and Chief Executive Officer at Leo’s, which she set up in 2018 in memory of her son Leo, and the journey she, & her family went through as a result of experiencing baby loss, neonatal care and longer term SEND needs.
In the last three years Lottie has dedicated her time outside of helping families, to growing her knowledge base and educating herself in key areas of neuroscience and trauma informed care – which has become her passion. She has studied under some of the leading voices within these areas, gathering insight and knowledge & applying it to perinatal mental health.
Lottie is now one of the handful of qualified Nervous System Practitioners globally who have studied with world renowned nervous system expert, Jessica Maguire, within her Nervous System School, and leads on this area within Birth Trauma North East.
Combining her unique and innovative knowledge with her own personal journey of birth trauma, baby loss, neonatal care and pregnancy after loss & the experiences of all of those she has cared for, Lottie brings a wealth of experience to the team.
Lottie is a huge advocate of being a co-regulator, ensuring that any time spent with her, families feel seen, validated, understood and have compassionate nurturing care when in her sessions.
